Mira Calix and Flat-e team up for next Streetwise Opera project

We’re delighted that Mira Calix and Flat-e will be teaming up for our next project. They will be writing one of four short ‘Film Operas’ with other top artists. The piece, Fables – A Film Opera will be premiered at Spitalfields Music on 17th Dec with a live staging before the films tour.

MSH has made it to the National Lottery Award Final

We are delighted that My Secret Heart is in the final of the National Lottery Awards – a search to find the UK’s favourite Lottery-funded project. We are in the Arts Project category alongside 2 other projects and there are 21 charities in total in the final.

Thanks to everyone who voted for us – the final will be on 4 September and it’s going to be televised on BBC One – more details soon.

MSH to go to New York and Beijing

The installation is due to be part of a very prestigious project run by Intel called the Creator’s Project. The Creator’s Project will take place across the globe and My Secret Heart will be involved in the New York presentation on 26 June and in Beijing on 17-19 September.

My Secret Heart on BBC Radio 3

BBC Radio 3 will play a 15-minute extract of MSH on 23rd Nov at around 7pm as part of Performance on 3 in a programme featuring the pieces shortlisted for the British Composer Awards (Mira Calix has been shortlisted for MSH). Keep fingers crossed for Mira and all of us – the award ceremony is on 1 Dec!

Audience hits 125,000

The total audience for My Secret Heart has topped 125,000 – including audiences for live presentations, internet hits, presentations on the BBC Big Screens and the tour. We’ve still got a number of tour dates fixed for 2010 so we aiming for an audience of 150,000!

MSH up for another award

Mira Calix has been shortlisted for the British Composer Awards for My Secret Heart. We find out on 1st December whether she has won. Congrats to her and fingers crossed!
